OASIS programs for November 2009

OASIS, the non-profit enrichment program for adults 50 and older, will offer the following classes during November.

OASIS is open weekdays and on the second Saturday of each month. Unless otherwise noted, classes will be held at OASIS, located on the fourth floor of the downtown Portland Macy’s store at 621 S.W. Fifth Ave.

• OASIS Balance Event with Dr. Jeffrey Brown – Saturday, Nov. 7, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital, Medical Building No. 2 auditorium. Fee: $12.

• Democracy Israeli Style, with Bob Horenstein – Tuesday, Nov. 3, 10:30 a.m. to noon. Fee: $7.

• The History of the Portland Trail Blazers – Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Featuring a Blazer staff representative. Fee: $7.

• Landscape in Art, with Joan Kirsch – Tuesdays, Nov. 12 to Dec. 17 (five sessions), 10:30 a.m. to noon. Fee: $35.

• The Story Behind “The Musical Score,” with Edmund Stone – Tuesday, Nov. 17, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Fee: $7.

• Joining the Online Community, with Bill Long – Thursday, Nov. 5, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fee: $20.

• E—mailing: Getting Started – Thursday, Nov. 12, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fee: $20.

• Navigating the Road to Your Retirement and Beyond: Exploring Health Care Options – Saturday, Nov. 14, 1:30 to 3 p.m. With Tim Nay. Fee: $10.
