It wasn’t a real deluge – just that kind of solid light rain that got everything good and wet. As I circled the parking lot at the mall, I was glad to see that handicap-parking spot right by the front door.
I pulled in, and as I unloaded and got out, I couldn’t help but feel kind of sorry for everyone else who had to park far enough away to get a soaking as they walked clear across the parking lot to get inside. I couldn’t help but smile smugly to myself.
Now I don’t know anybody who chooses to be in a wheelchair. But since I didn’t have any say in the matter, I soon found out that since I was, I might as well make the best of it. I didn’t have to look too hard to find some good things about it. They were just right there.
